Thanks for working with my wonderful, overly exhuberant male golden puppy and helping me help him to curb his less desirable, but well-meaning behaviors. Your training works to encourage positive behaviors while leaving the animals unique spirit intact. Warmly, Susan and Mog Ruith |

Thanks to your wonderful clicker training and positive reinforcement, Jesse is now the wonderful obedient dog I wanted. She was out of control, didn't listen, and your classes have made me and her understand each other. She is a joy to be around, very obedient, and I am very very happy. Thank you for your help and continued training. Jesse and I look forward to your next class!! Maryellen and Jesse |

"With the great training you gave me and Jesse, I was happy to enroll my newest addition to the family for puppy classes and basic obedience classes. Rufus came to me a shy and unsure little puppy, and with your classes and the clicker training he is now blossoming into the wonderful dog I had hoped for. We look forward to all your classes, and we practice faithfully at night every week. Rufus looks forward to classes so much, when i say "lets go to class" he runs to the door and sits and waits for me to put his leash on. Thank you for all your help, advise, and training. We enjoy the clicker training very much. Of course, he will be attending your classes faithfully from now on so he can be a breed ambassador, and maybe do some therapy work." Maryellen and Rufus |

"Sue proved to me that my dog's behavior is based on our relationship. The "POSITIVE PUPPY" approach made it easy for me to work out problems and succeed in training my dog to do anything." Lois A. and Jack |

"I am currently training my third search and rescue dog. When I first learned of clicker training, my initial impression was that it was a good tool for new and inexperienced dog owners, or those dog owners with poor verbal timing for marking desired behavior for a reward, because split second timing is indeed critical. Of course, a properly timed verbal expression of praise followed by reward will work and has worked for many years. Having some experience, I initially felt that clicker training wouldn't be necessary for me. However, I knew I wanted to bring Boomerang, my new German Shepherd puppy to Sue's classes as she is the best trainer I know. In keeping an open mind, I began the clicker method. The first day I realized that clicker training would work better, even before I even began actually training Boomerang with it. Boomer's lightning fast learning of the initial clicker conditioning that he would get a reward following the click proved to me immediately that this method would be far superior to only verbal praise to mark good behavior. Once training began, almost immediately I learned that the clicker has two big advantages over verbal praise alone to mark desired behavior. First, your fingers are more responsive than your lungs and vocal cords, so timing is far more accurate. Secondly, the clicker is a consistent sound, where a verbal "atta boy" can be said in any number of emotional tones and pitches no matter how hard you try to be consistent. While verbal works, consistency is much better and the dog learns faster with the clicker. Indeed, Boomerang is catching on to new things much faster than my previous dogs did solely with verbal marking. At first, I was a little "fumble thumbs" with the clicker and indeed, I had to catch on too. However, I'm sold. It's clicker training from now on." Pete B. and Boomerang |
